Children's Book for Charity

'Fifi the Freckle Faced Fish' follows the tale of Fifi the fish, a character embarrassed by her speckled face that makes her look different. As she and her friends journey through the animal kingdom they realize their differences are what make them special. It is a story of acceptance and embracing what makes each of us unique.

Proceeds from the sale of “Fifi the Freckled Face Fish” are donated to Autistic Self Advocacy Network (ASAN) a charity that is very important to IDS owner David Nolan, whose son has autism.

Dr. Leslie Jacobs is a pediatric dentist in Lafayette, Louisiana, but she is so much more than a dentist. She served in the US Army Reserve for 8 years and served in Desert Storm to put herself through dental college. She participated in a mission to Atoyac, Mexico where hundreds of underprivileged children received dental treatment. Currently, Dr. Jacobs serves on the board of Healing House for Grieving Children and sponsors multiple children’s charities in her area. She and her staff run 5K and 10K marathons to support numerous charities in their community. She is the mother of two daughters, Callie and Chloe.

Dr. Leslie Jacobs wrote this book when she was 7 years old after being teased for having freckles. Her dad encouraged her to write a story about her experience to make her feel better.
