Theming your office can be a great way to attract customers by word of mouth and online. As of 2014, 3 out of every 4 Americans own a computer and 45% of adults own a smartphone. That’s a lot of people going online every day! More and more these people are using the internet to find dentists. It can seem daunting to try and stand out online, but theming can give your office the boost it needs to attract new patients. Themes can give you appealing visuals to work with and constant content for your social media presence.

Here’s 3 quick tips on how to get started on social media:

You’ve got a fun new theme in your office, great! Now what? Previously we wrote about how to capture your office theme with fantastic and interesting photographs. Make sure that photos of your office theme are prominent on your office’s website. It will attract attention in a sea of dental websites and give potential patients a reason not to look further.

1. Social Media Contests

Start uploading your images to your office’s Facebook page and encourage people to “like” and share it. The more likes and shares you get the more people in your area you will reach. But people aren’t going to like an image just because it’s cool, you need to engage the viewer in some way. Why not turn one of your photos into a caption contest? That’s a great way to get people interested in your new theme and to start talking about it!

2. Photo Ops

Turn your office into a photo op! Encourage patients to take pictures of your office and post them online on their personal sites like Facebook, Twitter, or Pinterest. Again, turn it into a contest. The best selfie wins! This can be great word of mouth marketing for your office when family and friends start commenting on how they want to know more about where those images were taken.


3. Hashtags

Hashtags are your friend! Promote a fun hashtag like #bestdentistever for your patients to use when they upload pictures and reviews of your office. People trust the experiences of others and online recommendations are increasingly important for dentists and doctors; make sure that people are getting the right view of your office!
